I'm a Winner.....really I am!

This whole blog and twitter world is still so new to me. I can post on my blog without much cursing, but still can't figure out how to make tabs at the top. Twitter is still a little difficult....don't really get how to do a reply twitter yet, without doing a copy and past, but then maybe that is the only way to do it??

So imagine my surprise when I start winning all this "stuff" from just reading blogs.

First it was a bracelet from Bye Bye Fat Pants
 The bracelet says:
"One bite at a time.
One decision at a time."

That was cool and I will admit I wear it everyday!

Shortly after I won a coupon for some Chee Cha Puffs
Whoo hoo, went to the Bulk Barn and picked up my favorite chip flavour...salt & vinegar.
Chee Cha Puffs did not disappoint.

Next up, from Crystal at Bye Bye Fat pants again! Poor girl.. I was a winner.
Received an email last night from Silver Hills Bakery:

Hello Conny – congratulations on winning the contest from Bye Bye Fat Pants. I would like to send you one of our fun t-shirts and 5 coupons for free bread.
Can you tell me what size t-shirt you would like?

We have:

I look forward to hearing from you.

In other news,I am almost finished week 7 of the C25k. One more run to do on Saturday.
Last week I did not post my weigh loss as it was not a "great" time of the month" and I was up a bit.
Hoping that this week will at least show something in a downward position!

So yeah I am feeling pretty lucky lately.
Not only am I feeling like a winner from getting to read all these wonderful blogs that you ladies write. (even if you are changing what you write about,I am still interested because I am getting attached to the person). I have been lucky enough to win a few prizes along the way!

Shoe Porn....wanna see what I got ???

I ♥ shoes.  One of my favorite quotes is:
"One shoe can change your life ~Cinderella~ "
Shoes have been featured in a few blogs I follow. In one blog, with every 10 lbs the blogger loses, she gets a new pair of shoes.  When losing and gaining weight, some clothes get shoved to the back of the closet, but shoes always seem to fit.
Here is my closet of shoes...not too many, but I do love them all!

These are the knee highs close up.

Maybe next week I'll do my Lululemon porn : )

It's Saturday...weigh in day!

Down 1.4 lbs....I'll take it!

Was hoping for a bit more of a jump.  A loss is a loss, and as long as the scale is going down, I am happy.

I joined the world of Weight Watchers Online on Friday.  I received an email where there was no sign up fee. This made it a savings of about $40,so I figured I would try tracking to keep me in line. I have been eating the right food for my body, but wonder sometimes if I might be eating too much. Inputting all my data yesterday made me think I have been eating too much. I really would like to lose this 45 lbs by my 46th birthday on February 8,2011.

I finished week 5 of the C25k program this week.  Today was my last run of the week and it was a 5 minute brisk walk, followed by a 25 minute run with no breaks, then another 5 minute cool down walk. I won't lie, I was a bit intimidated again, as the most I had been running was 8 minutes...what the heck were they thinking going from 8 to 25 minutes??? I told myself that if I needed to stop for a break, I would.....BUT I never even felt like I had to!!!! I set a good pace for myself and I know I could have run for even longer.  Mind you my legs are really feeling it now, but it is a good pain. The kind of pain that lets you know your body is working with you.

Looking forward to starting week 6 of the program on Monday.  I am even thinking of doing this run in October, before I do the Muir Winery run on November 6th.  Maybe once I have finished next weeks run I will make the decision. In December, there is the Santa Shuffle which would be fun to do if there isn't any snow. After those 3 runs,it will be time to start training for a 10 k in the spring
: )
I think I got the runner's bug!

Just to end on a funny note, my butt is still sore from last weekend's bike riding. Who would have thought with all that cushion?? LOL.  I am hoping to do an hours bike ride tomorrow, as the weather so far is showing a sunny day.  Hope the sun in shining in your part of the world too!

All caught up!

I joined a challenge for the 1st of September that Syl from Live Smile Run started. Believe me, I had every intention of starting September 1st, but I left life get in the way. Lynn from
Next Chapter blog suggested getting caught up by doing some extra workouts and I have taken her advice. I am happy to report I have done my five 20 minutes workouts today. First thing this morning I did my C25k run, then before supper I did a 30 minute bike ride with hubby and two of the kiddies. After supper I went for a 45 minute bike ride. Guess what my legs feel like??
JELLO!
But I am super happy to be caught up! Tomorrow I will take my measurements!

Have you seen this Nike ad? I think that
they finally may be ""getting it"

13 Days later and......

I did it! Put my feet to the beat and did my C25k run. This is week 5 for me, and to tell the truth, I was almost psyching myself out when I heard what my run was going to be for the week. My brain was telling me to start week 4 again to be on the safe side.  My heart (my inner runner) told me to at least try it. Here I sit with a nice sweat on and feeling the tightness in my legs....I need to bottle this feeling for the days I don't want to run. At one point in my run, I  shouted out loud "I am a runner"!
Empowerment ladies.. I am back!
Look out Muir Winery, cause this is gonna be one excited
lady when I cross the finish line to my first 5 k run!

Please..... I need the Reset Button!

Well the drive back from Ontario and arriving home has not been nice to me. Or should I say I have not been nice to myself. I have not found any free time to exercise and boy is it showing on the scale.
I also realized before I left Ontario, that the big loss I thought I had, was not for real. I was heartbroken.
When I first arrived at my FIL I had put the scale in the landing,(and yes I brought my scale with me),but decided to move it a few days later as it seemed to be in the way. Silly me put it in my bedroom on a very thin carpet. Well that thin carpet did not make the scale work properly...so the loss I thought I had was not real, and I had actually stayed the exact same.  Which I really should be happy about as I would have normally gained at least  6 lbs on vacation.

Since being home for the past 8 days I have not done my C25k,which I am really missing. Getting 3 kids ready to go back to school, has utterly exhausted me to the point, I just wanted to curl up and hide from the world. Really ladies, shopping is a hobby for me,but back to school shopping is ugly!

If you watch the weather at all,you might notice too that us Nova Scotians have been going through a bit of a humidity problem. I feel like someone opened the gates of hell here!! My body is drenched at all times of the day and here's a shocker....it makes me CRANKY! So hopefully this little hurricane we are suppose to also be getting, will arrive as a very mild storm and break this heat spell. PLEASE!!!!!

So I am setting the RESET BUTTON and I will weigh myself on Saturday, and hopefully start week 5 on Friday night.
September 1st was also the first day of the challenge I joined with Syl at Live,Smile,Run. I am sad to say I did not accomplish that last night. I am going to try and make it up to myself today.....if only the humidex stays below 40.

Wish me luck I may need it!
